European Patent Office in The Hague (hybrid) seeks a Patent Examiner in Computer fields to examine applications, analyze novelty and inventive steps, and apply EPC rules. You’ll conduct in-depth research using digital tools and collaborate with international colleagues to ensure high-quality decisions.

We offer a competitive net salary of €7 076 to €10 164 per month depending on location and experience, plus extensive leave, remote work options, pension and ongoing examiner training in English.

Qualificações

• Master’s level degree in one or more technical fields mentioned.
• Excellent knowledge (C1) of English, French or German and ability to understand the other two; or English (C1) with willingness to learn missing languages to B2 within set time frame.
• Citizenship of a member state of the European Patent Organisation.
• Industry experience would be an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Examine patent applications, including technical documentation and drawings, in one of our official languages.
• Analyse new inventions to evaluate novelty and inventive step.
• Conduct in-depth research using digital search tools and patent sources to identify relevant prior art.
• Apply EPC and related legal frameworks to make high-quality patent grant decisions.
• Communicate findings clearly with applicants and other parties.
