Job summary

Alan, a health tech company, is hiring a User Researcher to anchor decisions with real user insights. You will run interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability sessions across the product cycle, turning findings into clear, actionable guidance for product, design, and engineering.

You will partner with PMs, designers, and data science teams, mentor colleagues, and help grow a research-driven culture at Alan, shaping an healthcare experience that serves millions of members.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a product/user researcher in a tech environment with qualitative methods (interviews, diary studies, think-aloud usability testing, observation).
• Strong quantitative research skills: survey design, sampling, cross-tabs, basic stats.
• Able to translate findings into clear, actionable insights for teams.
• Experience mentoring junior researchers or non-researchers.
• Familiar with AI and LLM concepts and production considerations.
• Excellent English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Gather and prioritize the most important questions from across the company and design the right research to answer them.
• Conduct interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability sessions across the full product cycle.
• Turn findings into clear, compelling insights for product, design, and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, analytics and data science to tell a complete story.
• Help grow a research culture across Alan and mentor teammates.
