Job summary

Cefetra Rotterdam invites enthusiastic students to join our Operations team for a 3- to 4-month internship focused on automating order entry and process improvements in a fast-growing international trading environment.

You will collaborate with planners, operational colleagues and developers to ensure new processes work effectively in practice, while gaining hands-on experience with AI-powered automation in a real-world setting.

Who are we?
Cefetra Group consists of several trading companies operating in the agricultural sector and the food ingredients industry, including leading brands in the ingredients market. Together, we employ approximately 800 people across 39 offices in 17 countries worldwide. We work closely together to provide our customers with the best possible service. In partnership with our suppliers, we develop strong supply chains and create value by sourcing raw materials and supplying them to the international food, animal nutrition and energy industries.

The assignment

As an Operations & Process Improvement Intern, you will become part of the Operations team and play an active role in one of our key digital transformation projects.

Our operations department is currently implementing a new automated order entry process. Where orders are currently entered manually, we are working towards a future state in which automates large parts of the process. Your role will be to support and accelerate this transition.

You will act as the linking pin between the Operations team and our internal development team. You will work closely with planners, operational colleagues and developers to ensure the new process works effectively in practice.

During your internship, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Operations team in the current order entry process;
• Testing newly developed AI-driven order entry functionalities;
• Identifying improvement opportunities and operational requirements;
• Documenting findings and providing structured feedback to the development team;
• Coordinating user acceptance testing and validating outcomes;
• Monitoring process performance and data quality;
• Helping drive the transition from manual activities towards automation;

Who are you?

You are curious, analytical and excited about how new technologies can improve business processes. You enjoy working with people, taking ownership and translating operational needs into practical improvements. Ideally, you bring the following:

• You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, Business IT or a related field;
• You have a strong affinity with digitalization, automation and AI;
• You enjoy analyzing processes and identifying improvement opportunities;
• You are comfortable working with data and digital tools;
• You have strong communication skills and can easily interact with different stakeholders;
• You are proactive, structured and able to work independently;
• You have good command of both Dutch and English.
