Job summary

sennder is looking for a Manager Operations to join our Amsterdam office and lead the Account Operations team. The role is 100% onsite in Amsterdam, requiring Dutch language proficiency and strong English communication along with a background in dynamic operations and people management.

The ideal candidate will drive daily transport operations, build executive relationships, analyze performance data, and coach a hands-on team to deliver growth and excellence in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Dutch language required, alongside English verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in dynamic operational environments, preferably with people management experience
• Logistics/supply chain industry experience is preferred, but a strong profile from outside the industry is very welcome.
• Proven ability to build and sustain strong customer relationships, including the confidence to push back on operational and local management stakeholders when the account’s interests require it.
• A true “player-coach” mindset, equally comfortable doing hands-on operational work and holding strategic, people leadership responsibility for a team.
• Strong analytical skills: able to read account and team performance data and translate it into clear, actionable steps.
• Genuine investment in team culture and morale, with the drive to unite a team around shared goals of growth and excellence.

We are a growing team looking for a Manager Operations to join our Amsterdam office and be part of an international team keen to provide the highest level of service to our largest key customer. The role is based in Amsterdam and is 100% onsite.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Account & Commercial Ownership

• Consistently executing and overseeing daily business and following up the status of the customers’ transport operations.
• Establishing and pro-actively maintaining relationships with day-to-day contacts and management-level contacts, both inside and outside the organization.
• Gathering, analyzing, and preparing relevant information for business reviews, and being an active participant in them.
• Handling, and where needed, pushing back on operational, local management stakeholders in the interest of the account.

Team Leadership

• Stepping into hands-on operational work when the account or team needs it, while also managing direct reports. Taking up escalations that
• Keeping a strategic overview of the account and team, delegating task division to team members, and supporting them in building the most efficient processes.
• Keeping the team accountable for performance using data and translating that data into concrete actions.
• Turning sensitive or hectic situations into a clear plan on the fly and coordinating the team’s response in real time.
• Owning team morale and culture and uniting the team around a shared goal of growth and excellence.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Dutch language required, alongside English verbal and written communication skills. Any other languages are a plus.
