Job summary

sennder is seeking a Country Manager, Benelux in Amsterdam to drive performance and growth for the Benelux market. You will own both commercial and operational health, partner with operations, commercial, tech, finance, and People teams, and ensure a high-performing local organization.

You will lead carrier operations and commercial accounts, shape strategy, and report to senior leadership. Fluency in Dutch and English is required in a fast-scaling, AI-enabled environment.

We are a growing team looking for a Country Manager, Benelux to lead and grow our business in one of sennder's key markets. This role is based in our Amsterdam office and combines commercial ownership, carrier operations leadership, and full country P&L responsibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO …

As Country Manager, you will own the performance and growth of sennder's business in Benelux, acting as the local leader responsible for both the commercial and operational health of the country.

You’ll partner closely with carrier operations, commercial account management, and cross-functional teams (tech, finance, People) to ensure the Benelux market runs efficiently, grows sustainably, and delivers on service quality for customers and carriers alike.

In this role you will …

• Drive commercial account management for key shipper and customer accounts, growing existing relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
• Lead and develop the local carrier operations team, ensuring capacity, reliability, and cost-efficiency across the carrier network
• By Focusing on technology and data to transform the freight shipping industry and help our customers drive efficiency, lower their emissions, and reduce costs
• Own the P&L for the Benelux region, setting targets and driving performance across volume, margin, and service quality
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and strategic partners across the Benelux FTL transport market
• Act as the face of sennder in the Benelux region: represent the company with customers, partners, and at industry events
• Identify local market trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate them into actionable strategy for the country
• Partner with the green team and central teams (Commercial, Operations, Tech, People, Finance) to adapt global business strategy to local market needs
• Ensure operational excellence: on-time performance, carrier compliance, and customer satisfaction across the country. Recruit, coach, and grow a high-performing local team, fostering a strong entrepreneurial and collaborative culture
• Report regularly to senior leadership on country performance, key initiatives, and market developments
• Access AI tools such as DataLeap and Librechat to work towards a more efficient workflow and automation of our processes

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …

• 10+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation, with significant experience in carrier operations and/or commercial account management
• Proven track record of P&L ownership and driving business growth in a market or regional leadership role
• Strong leadership and team leadership skills, with experience building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing teams
• Strong commercial acumen: experience managing and growing key accounts, negotiating with customers and carriers
• Deep understanding of carrier operations, network planning, and road freight dynamics in the Benelux/European market
• Experience building and leading teams, with a hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership style
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively across commercial, operational, and technical functions
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-scaling environment, prioritizing ruthlessly and driving outcomes
• Comfort working with digital tools, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
• AI literacy: ability to use AI tools responsibly and effectively to improve productivity, decision-making, or quality of work.
• Fluent in Dutch and English
