Job summary

JBT Marel in the Netherlands is seeking an enthusiastic Operational Buyer/Planner to own procurement tasks and optimize processes. Based in Lichtenvoorde, you will ensure timely delivery of materials and outsourced assemblies while supporting continuous improvement in purchasing activities.

The role requires Dutch and English proficiency, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and about 3+ years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain. Hybrid work options available after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Order Management: Placing purchase orders, monitoring delivery times, maintaining supplier data, liaising with suppliers, communicating delivery times internally.
• Invoice Management: Minimizing price discrepancies, checking and approving invoices.
• Complaints/ Repairs: Handling complaints and repairs involving suppliers.
• Analysis/ Process Improvement: Analyzing inventory strategies and stock levels; driving improvements in purchasing processes.

At JBT Marel , we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Operational Buyer/ Planner who enjoys taking ownership, collaborating with suppliers, and continuously improving processes.

We are transforming the future of food. Every day, our technology helps food processors around the world produce high-quality, safe, and sustainable food. As part of our Planning & Procurement team in Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands , you will play a key role in ensuring materials, components, and outsourced assemblies are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

What you will do:

Order Management

• Placing purchase orders.
• Monitoring delivery times.
• Maintaining up-to-date supplier master data at the item level.
• Liaising with suppliers.
• Handling internal communication regarding delivery times.

Invoice Management

• Minimizing price discrepancies.
• Checking and approving invoices.

Complaints/ Repairs

• Handling complaints and repairs involving suppliers.

Analysis/ Process Improvement

• Analyzing, identifying, and proposing actions regarding inventory strategies and stock levels.
• Conducting analyses to drive improvements in the purchasing process.
• Contributing to improvements in the purchasing process.

What you will bring:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work and thinking level.
• Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Candidates with vocational background and substantial relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English.
