Job summary

JBT Marel in the Netherlands is seeking a Procurement Specialist to combine day‑to‑day purchasing with outsourcing projects across Europe. You will manage your own supplier portfolio, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of parts, assemblies and outsourced production activities.

With 3+ years in Purchasing/Procurement and proficiency in Dutch and English, you will work in a hybrid setup with international suppliers and a collaborative, growth‑minded team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Dutch and English language proficiency.
• Manufacturing or machine-building experience is an advantage but not required.

As a member of the Planning & Procurement team in Lichtenvoorde, you will ensure materials, components, and outsourced assemblies are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

The Opportunity

As a Procurement Specialist you will combine operational purchasing responsibilities with support for outsourcing activities. You will manage your own supplier portfolio and work closely with internal stakeholders and international suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts, assemblies, and outsourced production activities. This role offers a unique combination of day‑to‑day purchasing and larger outsourcing projects, sourcing complete assemblies or machine components from external manufacturing partners across Europe and beyond.

What You Will Do

Order Management

• Place purchase orders and follow up on supplier confirmations.
• Monitor and manage delivery schedules and supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate supplier and item master data within the ERP system.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding operational purchasing matters.
• Communicate delivery updates and potential risks to internal stakeholders.
• Manage your own supplier portfolio and build effective supplier relationships.

Invoice Management

• Review and minimize price discrepancies.
• Verify, approve, and follow up on supplier invoices.
• Support accurate and timely invoice processing.

Complaints & Repairs

• Coordinate and resolve supplier complaints.
• Manage repair and non‑conformance processes with suppliers.
• Follow corrective actions to ensure sustainable solutions.

Outsourcing Support

• Support the outsourcing of assemblies, fabricated parts, and machine modules to external suppliers.
• Coordinate production progress, delivery planning, and communication with outsourcing partners.
• Assist in supplier evaluations and quality follow‑up activities.
• Collaborate with experienced Outsourcing Engineers on supplier development and outsourcing projects.
• Potentially support supplier visits and inspections as your experience grows.

Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze inventory strategies and stock levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and supply chain processes.
• Contribute to process optimization initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
• Propose practical improvements that increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Help develop smarter ways of working within the team and with suppliers.

What You Will Bring

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and thinking level.
• Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Candidates with vocational background and substantial relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Manufacturing or machine‑building experience is an advantage but not required.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English.

While working under supervision, you will receive guidance and coaching from experienced colleagues and senior professionals, helping you further grow within the organization.
