Job summary

Pearson Carter is assisting a well-established international healthcare organisation with its IT service delivery. They seek an experienced Application Support Engineer to join the team onsite in Assen, Netherlands, to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve critical business applications in a regulated environment.

You will work with IT teams, application owners, and end users to resolve incidents, manage changes, and support upgrades while ensuring system security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven background in application or infrastructure support in medium-to-large organisations.
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM principles incl. Incident, Problem, Change Management.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with Windows and Linux servers; able to troubleshoot across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on onsite support for key business applications, ensuring systems remain stable and compliant.
• Take ownership of administration and ongoing maintenance of enterprise apps including LIMS.
• Investigate incidents by analysing alerts, logs, and user reports and implement resolutions.
• Manage support requests and incidents via IT service management platform within SLAs.
• Assist with planning and delivery of upgrades, releases, configuration changes, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and third-party teams to diagnose issues.
• Organise regular OS and app patching with validation, testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Support audits by completing access reviews and maintaining system records.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and problem management for recurring issues.
• Participate in projects to improve IT services and migrations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
