Job summary

Zanders in the Netherlands seeks a (Senior) Manager Non-Financial Risk to lead complex client engagements and shape our NFR proposition for banks and financial institutions across the Dutch and international market.

You will combine subject-matter expertise with leadership, advisory skills, and mentoring, while driving business development and ensuring high‑quality delivery across Dutch and international engagements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Finance)
• 5+ years (Manager) or 8+ years (Senior Manager) of consulting or banking risk experience
• Proven ability to manage client projects and lead teams
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for NFR (governance, controls, resilience)
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
• Willingness to travel as required

Job description

As a (Senior) Manager Non-Financial Risk (NFR), you will play a key role within Zanders’ Financial Institutions practice, supporting banks and financial institutions in strengthening their Non-Financial Risk frameworks. You will lead complex client engagements, contribute to business development, and actively shape our NFR proposition in the Dutch and international market.

You will combine deep subject‑matter expertise with strong leadership and client advisory skills, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while mentoring and developing consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver national and international client engagements in the area of Non-Financial Risk
• Advise financial institutions on NFR topics, including governance, risk frameworks, internal controls, operational resilience, outsourcing risk, and regulatory compliance
• Take end‑to‑end responsibility for project delivery, including planning, team coordination, quality assurance, and stakeholder management
• Drive business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and go‑to‑market initiatives
• Contribute to the further development of Zanders’ NFR service offering and thought leadership
• Monitor regulatory and market developments and translate them into actionable client insights
• Mentor and coach consultants and senior consultants, supporting their professional and personal development
• Actively build and maintain a strong professional network within the financial services industry

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, (Business) Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable field
• 5+ years (Manager) or 8+ years (Senior Manager) of professional experience in consulting and/or financial institutions with a strong focus on Non-Financial Risk and banking regulation
• Proven experience in managing client projects and leading teams
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations relevant to NFR (e.g. governance, controls, operational risk, resilience, outsourcing)
• Solid project management skills and a structured, analytical way of working
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
• Willingness to travel as required
