RiskSphere is a boutique consultancy advising banks, asset managers, insurers and the public sector on financial risk and climate considerations across Europe. As a (Senior) Managing Consultant, you will advise on Basel IV, ICAAP/ILAAP, and climate risk while leading engagements and coaching colleagues.

The role blends hands-on data work with client delivery, governance frameworks, and potential involvement in business development, within a flexible hybrid setup in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years consultancy experience serving banks or other financial institutions.
• Demonstrable delivery on risk or prudential topics: Basel IV, ICAAP/ILAAP, supervisory stress testing, or regulatory compliance at a regulated financial institution.
• Demonstrable work on climate or ESG risk at a financial institution, for example scenario analysis, climate stress testing or integration into the risk framework.
• Hands‑on data capability: you can work independently in the data chain (SQL or comparable).
• Dutch at B1 level or higher and currently living in the Netherlands (we do not offer relocation or visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Advise financial institutions on topics where risk, regulation, and data meet.
• Lead on prudential topics for banks, payment institutions, asset managers, or insurers.
• Act as engagement manager; coach colleagues and contribute to business development.
• Integrate climate and ESG risk into client risk frameworks and reporting.

You have spent years advising financial institutions, at a Big Four firm or a high-end boutique, and you know the difference between writing about regulation and implementing it. You have worked in the data and reporting chains delivering value to clients under regulatory pressure. And you are ready to join a firm where your work shapes the company, not just the engagement.

RiskSphere is a boutique consultancy operating at the intersection of sustainability, risk and regulation. We advise banks, payment institutions, asset managers, insurers and the public sector in Europe and abroad, combining regulatory expertise with hands‑on implementation.

The role

You advise financial institutions on the topics where financial risk, regulation, and data meet. For banks, this typically means prudential topics like Basel IV and capital, ICAAP/ILAAP, supervisory stress testing. For payment institutions and asset managers, the focus shifts toward operational and investment risk, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Across all client types, the integration of climate and ESG risk is a growing part of the work. The work is concrete: methodology, data chains, reporting, implementation.

Depending on your experience you join as Senior Consultant or Managing Consultant. As a Managing Consultant you also act as engagement manager, coach colleagues, and carry part of our firm development in areas such as business development, propositions or recruitment.

• Demonstrable delivery on risk or prudential topics: Basel IV, ICAAP/ILAAP, supervisory stress testing, or regulatory compliance at a regulated financial institution
• Demonstrable work on climate or ESG risk at a financial institution, for example scenario analysis, climate stress testing or integration into the risk framework
• Hands‑on data capability: you can work independently in the data chain (SQL or comparable)
• Dutch at B1 level or higher and currently living in the Netherlands (we do not offer relocation or visa sponsorship)

Nice-to-haves

• A Big Four or high‑end boutique consultancy background
• Experience as engagement manager
• A relevant certification such as GARP SCR, FRM or CFA
• Exposure to supervisory climate exercises or sustainability reporting (CSRD)
