Job summary

Corendon invites you to join W Amsterdam as a Welcome Desk Agent, part of the Welcome Team responsible for the Welcome Desk in both Exchange and Bank buildings. You are the face of the W experience, creating unforgettable moments for our guests.

Located at Dam Square, the hotel blends heritage with contemporary design. The role involves on-site duties, flexible shifts, and close collaboration with other departments to deliver exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year experience in the same or similar role.
• Fluency in English.
• Dutch and any other language is appreciated.
• Experience in the Luxury Segment is an advantage.
• Work Permit for The Netherlands is required.
• Driver license B is a must.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and assisting guests throughout their stay following service standards.
• Provide and tailor the Whatever/Whenever service to guests.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
• Work rotating shifts, including weekends, evenings and nights.
• Prepare for shifts and assist colleagues; Mise en Place.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with loud music.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure guest experiences.
• Assist guests with rooming, luggage transport, and directing to rooms.
• Provide local knowledge about the hotel facilities and city.
• Handle valet parking and deliver mail to rooms.
• Make bookings for guests (restaurants, flights, theater) on request.
• Arrange transport for guests (train, taxi, bus).
• Maintain safety policies and professional appearance.

W Amsterdam is casting a Welcome Desk Agent to join our Welcome Team, responsible for the Welcome Desk in both the Exchange and Bank buildings, as well as the Whatever/Whenever® Department (our call center). You are the face of the W experience and play a key role in creating unforgettable moments for our guests.

What does the job include?

Main Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Welcoming and helping guests throughout their stay. Ensure you are following service standards and operating procedures from the beginning to the end of each interaction.
• Showing guests our Whatever/Whenever service while they are with us, and connect with them to be able to personalize that service, creating memorable experiences.
• Making sure everything sparkles, we all enjoy a clean environment
• You will be on rotating shifts. Weekends are busiest, as well as evening/nights, so expect to be on shift then.
• Ensuring you are well prepared for the shift ahead of you, as well as your colleagues after you. Mise en Place will be your life saver.
• You will be working in a fast paced environment, under pressure, with loud music. Gotta love it.
• We are ALL-IN, and have more teams that we cooperate with. We expect you to be flexible to work with other departments. You’re not the only one on stage.
• Make sure you put the guests at the center of everything we do. Any task that is not mentioned in this list but that may create an unforgettable experience for our guests is on your to do list.
• Transport luggage of guests to rooms and controlling the luggage area
• Guide guests to their rooms and do an unforgettable rooming
• Being in the know: You are the expert when it comes to the hotel and the city, and you know all the ins and outs on our hotel facilities and possibilities in and around the hotel.
• Handling valet parking
• Deliver guest mail to their rooms
• On request, make bookings for guests in restaurants, flights, theater and all the places which are new and next.
• Organize transport for guests, such as train, taxi or bus
• You will be working different shifts (morning, evening, night and weekend shifts). Also during public holidays
• Communicating with your team and other departments is key. The Welcome Desk will be on speed dial.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company asses.
