Job summary

The Usual Rotterdam is seeking a Night Host to ensure guest well-being and safety during nocturnal hours. You will welcome guests, assist colleagues, and provide a warm, memorable night-time experience in a stylish hotel setting.

As a Night Host, you’ll work a night shift (23:00–07:00) with a 0-hour contract, earning an hourly rate of around €15 plus a 20% night allowance. Fluency in English is essential, and a sustainability mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Night auditor experience is helpful but not required; we can train you.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
• Available during nights; shift runs 23:00–07:00.
• Able to work a flexible schedule with variable weekly hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform common reception duties: check-in/out guests and provide information.
• Stand at the Ubar and prepare drinks for guests.
• Conduct basic financial audit activities.
• Monitor guest safety and hotel sleep-related needs.

The role

As Night Host, you are co-responsible for the well-being of fellow employees, guests and our guest satisfaction on a daily basis. Your core focus is to create a welcoming and unforgettable experience for our guests while being responsible for the safety of our guests and fellow employees. During your shift, you are engaged in:

• Performing common reception duties, such as checking guests in and out and providing information;
• Being at our Ubar and prepare delicious drinks for our guests;
• Doing some financial audit activities;
• Monitoring the sleep and safety of our guests;
• Helping prepare breakfast and ensure that the hotel is ready for the morning.

• "Night auditor": previous hotel (or similar) experience is great, but it's not a must-have for us - if you're eager to learn we can teach you what you need to know.
• Fluency in English is essential, additional languages are a plus.
• Available during the nights. The shift runs from 23:00 - 07:00.
• You are comfortable working with a flexible schedule and adaptable working hours. Some weeks may require more hours than others, depending on operational needs.
• Must have a heart for sustainability.
• You are legally allowed to work in The Netherlands.
