Job summary

Thorizon’ group in Amsterdam seeks a motivated Master’s level student or final-year undergraduate to work on reactor physics data evaluation. You will review and critically assess experimental integral data, identify key experiments and uncertainties, and compare with calculations to guide modelling and experimental needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s level student (or final-year undergraduate) in nuclear engineering, physics, or related field.
• Strong analytical and ability to synthesize complex technical information.
• Familiarity with neutronics concepts, databases and Python is desirable.
• Excellent communication in English; Dutch or French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform literature review of experimental integral data from journals and databases.
• Identify key experiments, measurement techniques and uncertainties.
• Compare experimental results with calculations and interpret differences.
• Assess data reliability and applicability for the project’s neutronics goals.
• Summarize findings in technical reports and presentations.
• Propose recommendations for data selection and further analysis.
