Job summary

SWIFT is a multinational leader in secure financial messaging services, seeking a Network and System Engineer to maintain and improve our global infrastructure. Based near Leiden, you will join the CMC Infrastructure department and collaborate with multilingual teams to keep our operational network robust and secure.

You will handle day-to-day admin tasks, diagnostics, and installations, while supporting problem investigations with the Customer Support team.

Qualifications

• HBO level in IT.
• Work experience as a Network and System Engineer is preferable.
• Good knowledge of UNIX/LINUX.
• Good knowledge of Juniper SRX is a big plus.
• Knowledge/experience with Fortinet firewalls, Cisco and F5/BIGIP, analytics software such as Elastic and Kibana and scripting language such as Python is a preference.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Good team spirit, eager to work in a multicultural environment, willingness to learn and good analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day admin tasks, collect data, analyze network health and performance.
• Diagnose issues, manage error logs, monitor bandwidth and link utilization.
• Assist troubleshooting of complex problems and ensure permanent resolution.
• Support Customer Support during investigations and communicate findings.
• Review problem situations and identify process/tools improvement opportunities.
• Implement configuration changes and new installations, willing to weekend daytime work.
