Job summary

TNO is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and improve our extensive network infrastructure across multiple sites in the Netherlands. You will ensure availability, performance, and security while coordinating with stakeholders and vendors.

You will work within the Infrastructure Team at the New Babylon office in The Hague, with hybrid work options and ongoing opportunities to learn and apply the latest networking technologies in a research environment that serves government and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree level of working and thinking.
• Preferably demonstrable experience as a LAN/WAN Network Engineer in a relevant enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and Infoblox technologies.
• The ability to optimise and automate operational management tasks.
• A flexible, customer-oriented, and service-minded attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• A valid Category B driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring optimal network performance, availability, and system security.
• Performing performance measurements, monitoring activities, and trend analyses.
• Implementing system modifications and improvements where required.
• Managing and administering infrastructure changes.
• Advising stakeholders on urgency, impact, and priority of proposed changes.
• Keeping up to date with the latest networking technologies and industry developments.
• Developing ideas and initiatives to further improve IT services quality.
• Maintaining operational relationships with hardware and software vendors.
