Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a MySQL engineer, specialist or architect to support enterprise MySQL environments across on‑premises, hosted and cloud platforms. The role ensures database availability, performance, security and recoverability.

You will monitor databases, implement backups, manage replication and high availability, optimise queries and secure access, while developing automation to improve operations. Senior staff may lead complex investigations and help define architectural roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Experience managing MySQL in on‑prem, hosted and cloud environments.
• Ability to configure replication, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Strong focus on performance tuning, security and backups.

Responsibilities

• Monitor MySQL databases, replication, jobs, storage and capacity.
• Resolve database incidents and service requests.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching and version upgrades.
• Administer backup, restore and recovery processes.

• Maintain user access, permissions, encryption and auditing controls.
• Support migrations between platforms or hosting models.
• Develop scripts and automation for operational database management.
• Participate in resilience and disaster‑recovery testing.
• At senior levels, lead complex performance, corruption and recovery investigations.
• At L5, define architecture patterns, standards and lifecycle roadmaps.
