Job summary

NTT DATA in the Netherlands is seeking a Microsoft SQL and cloud database engineer, specialist or architect to ensure database availability, security, performance and recoverability across hosted, private-cloud and public-cloud environments.

In this role you will monitor, configure and optimize SQL Server environments, administer Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance, and contribute to modernization initiatives with automation and best-practice patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Azure SQL Database/Azure SQL Managed Instance experience.
• Knowledge of backups, security, monitoring and DR for cloud databases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor database availability, performance, capacity and backup status.
• Resolve incidents involving database services, jobs, connectivity, storage and performance.
• Install, configure, patch and upgrade SQL Server environments.
• Administer cloud database services and platform configurations.
• Perform backup, restore and recovery activities.
• Support high availability, replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Conduct database performance analysis and tuning.
• Maintain access controls, encryption, auditing and security configurations.
• Support database migrations and platform modernization initiatives.
• Automate recurring administration, monitoring and reporting activities.
• Contribute to lifecycle planning and technical documentation.
• Define database architecture, modernization patterns and cloud-adoption standards (L5).

The role maintains database availability, security, performance, recoverability and operational compliance across hosted, private-cloud and public-cloud environments.
