Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Microsoft SQL and cloud database engineer, specialist or architect to manage SQL Server environments across hosted, private-cloud and public-cloud setups. The role focuses on availability, security, performance and compliance of databases.

Responsibilities include monitoring, incident resolution, cloud database administration, backups, migrations and automation, with opportunities to shape architecture and modernization standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Always On high-availability configurations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Familiarity with cloud database monitoring, backup, restore and DR.
• Proficiency in database security, access controls and auditing.
• Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and T-SQL for automation.

• Install, configure, patch and upgrade SQL Server environments.
• Administer cloud database services and related platform configurations.

• Conduct database performance analysis and tuning.
• Maintain access controls, encryption, auditing and security configurations.
• Support migrations and modernization initiatives.
• Automate recurring administration and monitoring tasks.
• Contribute to lifecycle planning and technical documentation.
• At L5, define database architecture, modernization patterns and cloud adoption standards.
