The role involves teaching MYP 1 and MYP 2 with classes of 10–20 students, developing engaging science units, assessing via MYP criteria, collaborating on curriculum, and supporting the broader MYP programme.

Inspire Global Learners | Build the MYP Together | Shape Our FutureOptimist International Academy (OIA) is looking for an MYP Integrated Science Teacher to join our Secondary team from January 2027.

OIA brings together the established Optimist International School and the developing international secondary provision at Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Tweetalig, supported by Floreerand Dunamare Onderwijs.

In August 2026, we began the inaugural year of our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). This is an exciting opportunity to join us at an early stage and contribute to the further development of our international secondary school.

Due to maternity leave, we are looking for an MYP Integrated Science Teacher (from 1 January until the end of the school year)

As an MYP Integrated Science Teacher, you will:

• teach MYP 1 (equivalent to Group 8 in the Dutch education system) and MYP 2 (equivalent to the first year of Dutch secondary school). Classes consist of between 10 and 20 students.
• design and deliver engaging MYP Science units;
• assess student learning using MYP criteria;
• collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning;
• contribute to student support and the wider development of our growing MYP programme.

The Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Tweetalig has a modern, fully equipped science laboratory, which OIA students can use on a weekly basis.
