Job summary

MTM Engineering is seeking an experienced MV Jointer to install, join, terminate and test medium voltage cabling across industrial and commercial projects in Europe. You will carry out jointing and terminations up to 36kV, perform testing, fault-finding and ensure right-first-time installations in line with safety and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical qualifications or trade certification.
• Proven MV jointing, termination and testing experience up to 36 kV.
• Experience with major MV termination systems (Nexans/Euromold/Moni/Tyco).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MV cable jointing and terminations up to 36 kV.
• Install, maintain and support MV electrical infrastructure.
• Perform glanding and termination of MV cables (AWA/SWA/XLPE/PILC/MDPE).
• Conduct MV cable testing and fault identification with appropriate equipment.
• Interpret drawings and schedules to ensure accurate installation and testing.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and right-first-time delivery.
• Coach and develop apprentices and junior team members on-site.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.

Job description

As an MV Jointer, you will be responsible for carrying out medium voltage cable installation, jointing, termination, testing and maintenance activities across a range of industrial, commercial and mission critical projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in MV systems, cable terminations and testing, together with a commitment to delivering right-first-time installations. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery across Europe while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out medium voltage cable jointing and terminations on systems up to 36kV.
• Install, maintain and support medium voltage electrical infrastructure across a range of industrial and commercial projects.
• Perform glanding and termination of MV cable types including AWA, SWA, XLPE, PILC and MDPE.
• Carry out MV cable testing and fault identification using appropriate test equipment, including insulation resistance and VLF testing.
• Interpret MV drawings, cable schedules and technical documentation to ensure accurate installation and testing.
• Complete all work to the highest quality standards, promoting a right-first-time approach to project delivery.
• Identify, report and assist in resolving quality, installation and equipment issues.
• Liaise effectively with project teams, supervisors and other trades to support successful project execution.
• Support the training and development of apprentices and junior team members through on-the-job coaching and guidance.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures and client requirements.
• Be flexible to work across various project locations throughout Ireland and Europe as required.

Requirements

• Relevant Electrical qualification, apprenticeship or trade certification.
• Proven experience carrying out MV cable jointing, terminations and testing on systems up to 36kV.
• Certification and experience in Nexans, Euromold, Moni or Tyco MV termination systems.
• Strong knowledge of MV electrical installations, cable systems and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within industrial and construction environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Full driving licence.
• Eligibility to work across Europe.
