Job summary

Summa VOAT is seeking a Music Teacher for a 0.6 FTE role in Eindhoven, starting February. You will design and deliver a new music curriculum for students with varied backgrounds and language skills, guiding their development with creative, student-centered lessons.

You will collaborate with colleagues to create a safe, inclusive learning environment and adapt approaches to individual needs while supporting transitions to further education or employment.

Qualifications

• Higher professional education in a music-related field, preferably a music-teacher track.
• Experience teaching music and developing curricula for diverse learners.
• Strong pedagogical and didactic abilities; able to tailor to language and background differences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a new music curriculum for Summa VOAT aligned to levels and needs.
• Provide engaging lessons, encouraging active participation, singing, rhythms and group making music.
• Adapt lessons for language proficiency, learning experiences, and development; create safe learning spaces.
• Collaborate with colleagues to guide students’ development and progress.

This means that you will not only teach the lessons but also have the freedom to shape the music education yourself.* You develop a music curriculum that aligns with the different levels, backgrounds, and abilities of our students.* Starting in February, you will provide music lessons in which students actively engage with music, for example by singing, discovering rhythms, and making music together.* You adapt your lessons to what students need. In doing so, you take into account differences in language proficiency, learning experience, and development.* You create a safe and trusting atmosphere where students dare to participate, try new things, and are allowed to make mistakes.* You work together with colleagues to guide students as effectively as possible in their development.You will be working at Summa VOAT, part of Summa Plus. Here, we provide education to young people who are new to the Netherlands and guide them in their next step towards further education or employment.
