The Job

We are currently seeking a skilled Bar Manager to join our team at MR PORTER Amsterdam. As a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience. This role requires an individual who is passionate about cocktails, hospitality, attentive to detail, and possesses excellent communication skills. All our employees work together to provide outstanding, authentic service and experience for every guest. To realize this, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Lead, schedule, and supervise the bar team, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
• Deliver an excellent guest experience by maintaining high service and presentation standards.
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate closely with management and other departments to support overall business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or Senior Bartender in a high-volume or premium hospitality environment.
• Deep understanding of different types of alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware, and how to properly prepare and serve various types of drinks.
• Friendly, personable, and able to engage with guests in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Excellent communication skills with guets, other staff members, and management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and supervise bar staff: responsible for onboarding new team members, providing ongoing training and coaching, motivating staff to perform at their best, and supervising daily operations.
