Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Palantir Foundry engineer for defense and security-focused deployments in Europe. You will design and deploy data pipelines and operator-facing apps, integrating live intelligence into workflows while collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will own end-to-end solutions, debug on-premise systems, and travel across Europe as required, contributing to secure, mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

Strong engineering background in a technical field.
Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories, Workbooks, and app development.
Fluency in Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, or Go.

Responsibilities

Engage with defence and security users to understand situational-awareness and force-protection needs.
Scope solutions against operational requirements.
Design, build, and deploy Palantir Foundry data pipelines, ontology models, and operator-facing applications.
Integrate live intelligence into existing workflows, common operating pictures, and command-and-control tooling.
Build and tune custom widgets for user needs.
Own solutions end to end, from whiteboard design through deployment.
Debug infrastructure, networking, and applications in restricted, disconnected, or on-premise environments.
Advise customer engineers and operators technically.
Carry customer feedback back into the product.
Travel to customer sites and operations centres in Europe approximately 25% to 75% of the time

Requirements

Strong engineering background in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, or an equally technical field
Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories, Workbooks, and application development
Fluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, or Go
Three or more years of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering experience shipping systems into production
Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar platform architectures and data models
Experience with Docker or Podman containers
Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift orchestration
Solid Linux, networking, and on-premise fundamentals
Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Willingness to travel and work on site in secure customer facilities
Right to work in the EU, or be based in the UK
Nice to have: experience delivering software in classified, air-gapped, or disconnected environments
Nice to have: background supporting defence, intelligence, national-security, or emergency-management work
Nice to have: experience with Esri, ArcGIS, geospatial platforms, common-operating-picture tooling, or command-and-control systems
Nice to have: front-end frameworks and data-rich operator applications
Nice to have: familiarity with NATO and national defence accreditation and compliance
Nice to have: a second European language
