Job summary

Chargetrip in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to maintain, scale, and improve our infrastructure powering EV routing services worldwide.

You will standardize deployments, automate processes, and shape infra‑as‑code practices across microservices with a focus on reliability and security, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• General Linux knowledge: Proficiency in a Linux environment, including command-line navigation, system administration, and service management with systemd.
• Networking fundamentals: A solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, with the ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.
• Version Control: Working knowledge of Git for collaborative development and code management.
• Nice-to-Have: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and hands-on with Terraform or Crossplane.
• Containers: Docker; Kubernetes is a significant plus.
• Scripting: Bash or Python for task automation.
• Database Knowledge: SQL and concepts related to NoSQL or Redis.
• GitOps: ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Monitoring: Prometheus stack or OTel.
• Cloud: AWS or other cloud experience.
• Programming: NodeJS familiarity.
• Networking: Load balancers, VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, develop, improve, and scale Chargetrip’s infrastructure; collaborate with Infrastructure and Backend teams.
• Standardize deployments, ensure auditable infra, and automate deployment processes.
• Design and tailor infrastructure-as-code to meet engineering needs, improving productivity, repeatability, and security.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Your primary responsibility is to maintain, develop, improve, and scale Chargetrip’s infrastructure. Our EV routing services are used by drivers worldwide, and keeping them running and stable is a challenge you will tackle closely with our Infrastructure and Backend teams.

• You know how to standardize deployments, ensure infrastructure is auditable, and automate deployment processes.

• You understand how software is built with microservices and how to tailor infrastructure-as-code tools to meet the needs of our engineering teams and increase productivity, repeatability, and security of the infrastructure.

What We Are Looking For

• Scripting: Experience with at least one scripting language, such as Bash or Python, for task automation.

• Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of databases, including SQL and concepts related to NoSQL or in‑memory caches like Redis.

• Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD.

• Experience with the Prometheus monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager), or OTel.

• Any relevant AWS or cloud experience.

• Knowledge of other scripting languages like NodeJS.

• Load balancers, reverse proxies, VPNs.
