Job summary

Ascendum Recruitment represents an international corporate finance advisory client in the Netherlands seeking an Associate Director to lead mid-market M&A transactions from start to finish. You will act as the primary contact for clients, investors and advisers and oversee financial analysis, valuation and transaction materials.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–8 years of relevant M&A experience.
• Proven track record of executing transactions and leading deal teams, ideally within the mid-market.
• Strong technical skills in financial analysis, modelling and valuation.
• Confidence managing client relationships and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• A strong academic background in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Fluency in Dutch and strong English communication skills.
• Commercial awareness, initiative and a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day execution of mid-market M&A transactions from preparation through to completion.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, investors and other advisers.
• Oversee financial analysis, valuation work and the preparation of transaction materials.
• Coordinate due diligence and manage transaction timelines and workstreams.
• Lead pitch preparation and support origination and business development.
• Manage and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring high-quality delivery across projects.
