MVA International Headhunters has been retained to identify an experienced Managing Director – Corporate Finance & M&A for an established international advisory business looking to strengthen its presence in the Netherlands.

This is an opportunity for a commercially driven M&A professional to take ownership of a growing market, develop a high-performing team and build a sustainable advisory business.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an established mid-market M&A professional with a strong track record in originating and executing transactions, alongside the ambition to lead and grow a business.

The successful candidate will have considerable autonomy to develop the local market, establish client relationships and build a team, supported by an international advisory network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a growth strategy for the Netherlands.
• Originate and execute mid-market M&A transactions across multiple sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with business owners, private equity investors and corporate clients.
• Lead transactions from initial engagement through to successful completion.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing advisory team.
• Work closely with international colleagues on cross-border opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

• Currently operating at Managing Director, Partner or senior Director level within Corporate Finance or M&A advisory.
• Proven experience originating and executing mid-market M&A transactions.
• Strong network of corporate decision-makers, investors and business owners.
• Background in an established M&A boutique, independent advisory firm or Big Four Corporate Finance practice.
• Broad sector experience preferred.
• Commercially driven, entrepreneurial and comfortable remaining hands-on with transactions.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
