Job summary

Albert Heijn is seeking a QA Engineer for the Digital Product Innovation team to ensure high-quality mobile experiences in the Albert Heijn app across iOS and Android. You will work in a multidisciplinary, hybrid team near Zaandam, collaborating with frontend/backend developers and product managers to embed quality from the refinement stage onward.

Qualifications

• Experience in software testing with a strong foundation in manual testing.
• Hands-on testing of mobile applications on iOS and/or Android.
• Solid knowledge of core testing methodologies and writing/executing test cases.
• Experience reporting defects in Jira and performing regression testing.
• Understanding of client-server architecture and REST APIs.
• Ability to analyze network traffic with tools like Proxyman.
• Bonus if you have Postman, mobile test automation tools such as Appium, or CI/CD concepts.
• Clear communication of findings and proactive knowledge sharing.
• You enjoy teamwork and working in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing for new features in the Albert Heijn app on iOS and Android.
• Translate requirements into test scenarios; identify defects and document findings clearly.
• Investigate issues beyond UI by analyzing logs, API requests and responses, status codes and payloads.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders from refinement onward.
• Act as a quality advocate to improve product reliability and user experience.
• Provide timely feedback to support release decisions for innovative features.
