Job summary

Fairphone in Amsterdam is seeking a Junior QA Tester to safeguard quality across Android smartphones, audio devices, companion apps and enterprise solutions. You will report to the QA Team Lead and execute structured test plans, perform exploratory testing, log defects, and verify fixes across multiple use cases.

This role emphasizes hands-on testing, regression checks, and collaboration with engineering. You should bring 1–2 years in QA, a relevant degree, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years in QA testing or a similar role.
• Foundational QA concepts and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Android OS and consumer audio devices.
• Experience with bug-tracking tools (GitLab, Jira).
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test suites on Android smartphones, audio devices, apps and enterprise software.
• Log detailed defect reports with steps, screenshots, and logs.
• Perform functional, UI/UX, and behavioral tests across configurations.
• Retest fixes and run regression checklists with new builds.
• Run pre-written automated scripts for performance/testing as documented.
• Share progress and blockers in daily QA meetings.
