Albert Heijn in Zaandam seeks a Backend Engineer to shape the technology driving one of the Netherlands’ most trusted brands. You will build and run Kotlin/Java microservices with Kafka and lead DevOps practices to keep our supply chain efficient, compliant, and scalable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with the specified tech stack (Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and test automation.
• Excellent English communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale microservices in Kotlin/Java for Store Replenishment.
• Design and deliver technical solutions aligned with architecture and business processes.
• Hands-on development: write code, run tests, ensure security and quality.
• Contribute to standards and evolve technical guidelines for scalability.
• Collaborate across teams within AH Stores and Supply Chain Technology Platform.
• Help grow team skills and streamline processes to deliver value.
