Job summary

HCLTech in the Netherlands seeks a Senior MCP Expert to lead AI platform build and production readiness. You will activate, configure, and operationalize the MCP SaaS orchestration layer on Azure as the central AI orchestrator for enterprise workloads.

You will integrate MCP with existing Azure services, design connector architectures, establish RBAC and security baselines, and document runbooks and SLAs for Phase 2 industrialization, with on-site work in the Netherlands.

• Deep understanding of enterprise security patterns: RBAC, OAuth, secrets management, logging & auditing.

Job description

The Senior MCP Expert will serve as the lead technical consultant for AI platform build. You will be responsible for activating, configuring, and operationalizing the MCP SaaS orchestration layer on Azure — establishing the secure, governed foundation that all subsequent AI use cases depend upon.

Key Responsibilities

• Activate and configure the MCP SaaS platform as the central AI orchestrator within the Azure environment
• Integrate MCP with existing Azure infrastructure, identity management, and cloud services
• Design and implement connector architecture to enable seamless integration of AI services and data sources
• Validate platform stability, performance, and scalability to support production-grade workloads

Security, Permissions & Governance Baseline

• Define and implement role-based access control (RBAC) and permission structures within MCP
• Establish security baselines aligned with enterprise standards (data classification, encryption, access policies)
• Configure comprehensive logging, monitoring, and audit trail capabilities
• Set up the governance framework — approval workflows, policy enforcement, and compliance checkpoints
• Collaborate with the internal security team to ensure all configurations meet risk requirements

ServiceNow Domain & Lighthouse Use Case (TLO) Onboarding

• Create the initial ServiceNow domain within the MCP framework to enable service management integration
• Configure the TLO (Transport & Logistics Operations) use case as the lighthouse — the first production AI service to be industrialized through the platform
• Support the end-to-end technical path from prototype to production-ready service for the TLO use case
• Document the service mapping, runbook, and SLA framework to be reused in Phase 2 industrialization

Observability & Platform Readiness

• Implement monitoring dashboards and alerting for platform health, usage, and cost visibility
• Ensure the platform is instrumented for Phase 2 handover — supporting the internal team's ability to operate independently
• Produce clear technical documentation: architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational runbooks

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Proven hands‑on experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) — SaaS deployment and orchestration
• Experience configuring AI orchestration platforms and connector-based integration architectures
• Deep understanding of enterprise security patterns: RBAC, OAuth, secrets management, logging & auditing
• Familiarity with ServiceNow integration and ITSM domain configuration is advantageous

Delivery & Consulting

• Track record of delivering AI platform or integration projects in enterprise environments
• Ability to work embedded with an internal engineering team — pragmatic, hands‑on, delivery-focused
• Strong documentation skills: able to produce architecture artefacts and operational guides to a production standard
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with security, governance, and business stakeholders

Profile & Soft Skills

• Senior‑level consultant with 7+ years of relevant technical experience
• Based in the Netherlands (NLD) — on‑site availability required for Phase 1
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
• Self‑starter who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding overhead
• Clear communicator — able to translate technical decisions into business language for stakeholders
