Job summary

Van Storm Recruitment is seeking a Plan Approval Surveyor – Stability for a Rotterdam-based role within our client’s international maritime team. You will review stability calculations, drawings, and documentation to ensure compliance with class and statutory rules, while guiding shipyards, engineering companies and shipowners.

You will work with an international group of specialists, applying your expertise to evaluate vessel stability and support safe, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant maritime engineering or classification experience.
• Solid understanding of ship stability and naval architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Review stability calculations, stability booklets, and related technical drawings.
• Assess documentation against classification rules and international regulations.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance to shipyards, engineering companies and shipowners.
• Prepare clear technical reports ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design reviews.
• Manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines.
• Stay updated on maritime stability regulations and practices.
