Job summary

International organisation in the Rotterdam area is seeking a Plan Approval Surveyor – Stability to review stability calculations and related drawings for compliance with international rules. You will guide shipyards, engineering firms and shipowners, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting across projects.

You will join an international team of specialists, applying your expertise to diverse vessels and offshore installations while expanding knowledge of maritime regulations and stability

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in maritime engineering, offshore engineering or classification.
• Proficiency in NAPA and Rhinoceros for stability analysis.
• Good understanding of ship stability and naval architecture principles.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Review stability calculations, stability booklets and related drawings.
• Assess stability documentation against classification rules and international statutory regulations.
• Identify discrepancies and follow up on corrective actions.
• Provide technical advice to shipyards, engineering firms and shipowners.
• Prepare clear technical reports ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in design reviews.
• Manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines.
• Stay updated on maritime stability regulations.
