Job summary

Alphatron Marine is seeking a Service Engineer to install and maintain NavCom systems on a range of ships and yachts. You will work in the Amsterdam region, traveling locally and abroad to service radar, gyro, and ECDIS equipment on board.

You will diagnose faults, replace components, test systems, and advise crews while ensuring compliance with international regulations. This role offers hands-on problem solving and on-board responsibilities in a dynamic maritime environment.

Qualifications

• MBO 3/4 in Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
• VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Willing to travel and work irregular hours."

Responsibilities

• Install and configure advanced NavCom systems (radars, gyrocompasses, ECDIS) on board vessels.
• Diagnose, replace parts and test navigation/communication systems on ships.
• Advise captains and crew on proper operation of high-tech equipment.
• Prepare accurate reports and certifications to ensure compliance with international regulations.
