Job summary

Mind Your Step Recruitment partners with a maritime client to hire a Marine Engineer responsible for engineering and technical development of ship systems and vessel performance analyses. You will contribute to both newbuild and conversion projects, delivering 2D and 3D designs, technical calculations, and performance studies.

You will develop onboard systems and mechanical installations, perform mooring and stability analyses, and use Orcaflex for dynamic simulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Technology, Maritime Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
  • 5–10 years of relevant work experience as Marine Engineer or in a similar maritime engineering role.
  • Experience with CAD software and dynamic analysis tools (Orcaflex is a strong advantage).
  • Affinity with vessel stability, hydrodynamics, and offshore operations.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to continuously develop your technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • You are currently living in The Netherlands and do not require sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and engineering onboard systems and mechanical installations (such as propulsion, piping, and auxiliary systems)
  • Performing mooring analyses to assess vessel positioning and load behavior
  • Determining vessel motion behavior using dynamic analysis software such as Orcaflex
  • Assisting in the execution of inclination tests to verify vessel stability characteristics
  • Creating and compiling stability booklets in accordance with classification society and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting system integration and ensuring compliance with applicable maritime rules and standards
  • Collaborating with naval architects, structural engineers, and external stakeholders throughout the engineering process
  • Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will further develop your expertise in vessel stability, hydrodynamics, and dynamic behavior. Over time, you will take increasing ownership of your projects and grow towards working independently

Job description
