Job summary

Surge Marine in Valkenburg (ZH), Netherlands, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to bridge design and physical implementation of DC propulsion and power distribution systems. You will assemble, test, and validate electrical hardware on marine platforms, working closely with the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities include designing and building test benches for DC motors, wiring and integrating propulsion systems, interpreting schematics, and ensuring high-voltage safety compliance (400V).

Qualifications

  • Ability to physically connect and configure electrical test benches for DC motors.

Responsibilities

  • Test Bench Operations: Design, build, and connect electrical test benches to safely and effectively run DC electrical motors for performance validation.
  • Hands-on Integration: Execute the physical wiring, integration, and troubleshooting of propulsion and power systems for autonomous and remotely operated marine vessels.
  • Schematic Management: Read, interpret, and refine complex electrical schematics to ensure accurate physical assembly and system safety.
  • High-Voltage Handling: Safely manage and configure DC systems, specifically working with 400V architectures, adhering to strict maritime and defense safety standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with automation engineers to ensure seamless integration between power systems, control structures, and remote operation hardware.
