Job summary
Surge Marine seeks a hands-on Battery Technician/Engineer to build and maintain the energy core of our Whiplash platform. You will assemble high-performance Li-ion/LiFePO4 packs, spot-weld cells, wire the BMS, and ensure packs survive harsh marine conditions.
You will test power delivery, manage safety, insulation, and thermal interfaces, and perform on-site field testing in Valkenburg and offshore. English communication is essential, with Dutch/NATO nationality required due to defense-related
Qualifications
- Technical degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive technology, or related field.
- Proven hands-on experience building custom battery packs (EVs, drones, marine applications).
- Clear communication in English.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, configure, and test custom energy storage and packs.
- Spot-weld cells, wire BMS, ensure proper insulation for harsh saltwater environments.
- Perform charging/discharging cycles, capacity testing, and debugging of power delivery.
- Field testing and on-site maintenance at Valkenburg and at sea.
