Job summary

NTS Drachten is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge customer demand with engineering and the shop floor. You will design, analyze, and optimize production processes and tooling to ensure manufacturability, repeatability, and affordability while supporting NPIs and scale-up to volume production.

In this role, you assess drawings for manufacturability, advise on adjustments, and document test methods and PFMEAs. You will influence investment decisions with pragmatic shop-floor improvements.

Qualifications

• HBO education in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering or Technical Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical production environment, preferably machining or precision mechanical production.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance, with demonstrable PFMEA experience.
• Result-oriented and proactive in identifying and seizing improvement opportunities.
• Strong command of Dutch and English in speech and writing.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into efficient, manufacturable production solutions.
• Assess drawings for manufacturability and advise engineering/customers.
• Develop and validate production processes, including test methodologies and PFMEAs.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose concrete improvements.
• Design and implement new or improved processes and measuring instruments.
• Advise on purchasing machines, tooling, and measuring instruments.
• Support production with prototypes and scale-up to volume production.
