Job summary

Hotel Okura Amsterdam seeks a driven Manager Groups & Events to lead a 10–12 person team and drive commercial success across Groups, Events and Account Management. You will set pricing strategies, nurture key accounts and ensure flawless event execution.

You will report to the Commercial Leadership Team and contribute to overall hotel strategy, with a focus on guest experience and high-end service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial and/or leadership role within Groups & Events, Sales or similar.
• Strong commercial and strategic insight.

What you can expect

As Manager Groups & Events, you are ultimately responsible for the commercial and operational performance of the Groups & Events department at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. In this versatile management role, you combine strategic commercial insight with operational excellence and lead a team of approximately 10–12 FTE across Events, Groups and Account Management.

You are responsible for the entire groups and events journey: from commercial strategy and revenue optimisation to flawless operational execution and a consistent 9+ guest experience. In addition, you are part of the Commercial Leadership Team and actively contribute to the hotel's commercial strategy and performance.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Responsible for achieving budgets and revenue targets within Groups & Events;
• Developing and implementing pricing, yield and conversion strategies;
• Managing and further developing key accounts and client relationships;
• Overseeing the planning and execution of all groups and events;
• Ensuring a consistent 9+ guest and client experience;
• Leading, coaching and developing the Groups & Events team;
• Optimising processes, collaboration and operational efficiency;
• Responsible for forecasting, budgeting, reporting and KPI management;
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in systems, processes and automation.

Rest assured, you will not be working alone! As part of the Commercial Leadership Team, you will work closely with various departments across the hotel. Together with your team and colleagues from Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Operations, you will ensure that commercial opportunities are maximised and that groups and events are executed to perfection.
