Job summary

Picnic in Utrecht is seeking an experienced Service & Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot the fully automated distribution center. You will work with colleagues on electrical, mechanical and software faults across the conveyor and shuttle systems, ensuring continuous operation.

You will perform preventative maintenance, assist in fault analysis, and represent the company on site with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• MBO-3 level technical diploma.
• Experience with service and maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Trace and solve electrical, mechanical and software faults on all systems.
• Prevent and analyze failures, then perform thorough root-cause analysis.
• Maintain conveyor belts by replacing rollers or bearings as needed.
• Trace faults in networks and digital panels and participate in operator meetings.
• Represent the company on site and build a constructive customer relationship.

Job description

We are looking for experienced Service & Maintenance Technician who will soon be working with their colleagues on the maintenance of the complete logistics system of the online supermarket Picnic in Utrecht.

This is a great opportunity to work in one of the newest automated distribution centers in the Netherlands at the largest online supermarket of the moment.

It only makes sense to respond if you live in the Utrecht region and are allowed to work in the Netherlands.

The groceries for more than 150,000 families are supplied, picked and delivered weekly from Picnic's newest distribution center in Utrecht. The center is extensively automated, divided into 3 temperature zones and 42,000 m2 in size. The automation consists of state-of-the-art 'material handling equipment'. Think of advanced conveyor belts, roller tracks and shuttles. The system uses sensors, scanners and weighing systems for control. The heart of the design is the shuttle system that can trace and load more than 200,000 storage locations in almost forty aisles.

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

You will be responsible for tracing and solving any electrical, mechanical and software faults in all systems

You will be responsible for solving any failures and, obviously, for preventing these. This involves performing a thorough analysis to find the cause of the failure

You will also carry out maintenance on the conveyor belts to replace broken rollers or bearings, for example.

You trace faults in the network and digital panels, as well as attending meetings of the Picnic operators' team

You will be the representative on site, and the face of the company for our customer. As such, you will play a key role in building a working relationship

You have a flexible attitude and willing to work in a 5-shift system

2 morning shifts: 06:00 - 14:30

2 afternoon shifts: 14:00 - 22:30

2 night shifts: 22:00 - 06:30

4 days off

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You have at least a MBO-3 level technical diploma with general knowledge of mechanic or electrical.

You have practical knowledge of and experience with service and maintenance work on electrical and mechanical systems

You demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken English

You are able to work in a time-critical environment

You like working in team and share your knowledge

You are proactive, eager to learn and creative in finding solutions

A permanent contract for an indefinite period, with a salary between 51 k and 59 k per year, this includes 30% shift allowance and excludes the 8% holiday allowance.

Travel allowance € 0.23 per kilometer (max. 100 km per day)
