Job summary

TGW Northern Europe seeks an experienced maintenance technician for our new state-of-the-art distribution center in Heerlen, Netherlands. You will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, investigate and fix breakdowns, and ensure housekeeping and safety are never compromised.

You will support automation to run at peak efficiency using DART and CMMS, and contribute to continuous improvement through root-cause analysis and design modifications. A team-based, time-critical environment awaits.

Qualifications

• MBO-2 level technical diploma with general knowledge of mechanics, electrical and control
• Practical knowledge of service and maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance tasks
• Resolve breakdown situations with support on technical elements
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping and safety
• Support automation to operate at maximum efficiency and assist with flow control
• Complete reports for shift maintenance, spare parts usage, and top-loss in CMMS/DART

Job description

With a few years of experience in the tech industry, you are ready for a new step. The current industry you work in no longer offers the challenge you need or you want to further expand your current knowledge in a new environment. We challenge you to join our team at this new site! This is a great opportunity to work in the newest automated distribution centre in the Netherlands for our client which is a sports fashion, multichannel retailer of branded sports and casual wear, combining globally recognised brands. This client now has over 4,500 stores across 36 countries worldwide. The client has teamed up with a global leader in 3PL contract logistics to build a new 60,000-square-meter distribution center in Heerlen. This facility acts as a central logistics hub. Situated on De Beitel industrial estate in Heerlen, the new distribution center will replace former industrial buildings. This facility will be dedicated to fulfilling omnichannel sales and is designed to manage all EU volumes efficiently within one automated site. The automation system, provided by TGW, will feature 675 Stingray shuttles, 34 shuttle storage aisles, 284,333 storage locations, and a capacity to store 4.8 million units. Additionally, another leading provider of logistics solutions will install their Skyfall pouch system, which includes 90,000 pouches, GTP workstations, and sorters, carton machines, compressors, and print & apply systems from other third-party OEMs.

What you’ll be handling:

• You execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance tasks
• You resolve breakdown situations (Corrective Maintenance) - with support on more technical elements
• You ensure high levels of housekeeping, never compromise on safety first
• You support the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency and support with flow control activities
• You complete all necessary reports, including those for shift maintenance tasks, spare parts usage, and top-loss, while working in DART and CMMS software platforms
• You continually improve the performance of the equipment through avenues such as top-loss activities and design modifications
• You actively seek (or support) root cause when remedying any breakdowns on equipment

What you’ll need:

• You have at least a MBO-2 level technical diploma with general knowledge of mechanics, electrical and control
• You have practical knowledge of and experience with service and maintenance work on electrical and mechanical systems
• You demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken Dutch and English
• You will start working in day shift which we will build up to a 2 shift and then a 5 shift pattern
• You are able to work in a time-critical environment
• You like working in team and share your knowledge
• You are proactive, eager to learn and creative in finding solutions

What you’ll receive:
