Job summary

Panda International seeks a Maintenance Engineer Facilities to ensure safe, compliant operation of all hard services at a GMP-regulated pharma site in Leiden. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate with contractors (including JLL), and manage building systems such as fire safety, CCTV, access control, and HVAC.

The role requires a technical degree, proficiency in Dutch and English, and hands-on experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance within regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of EHS&S and GMP quality requirements.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance using SAP or CMMS.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering or Facilities Management field, or equivalent.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Experience coordinating with contractors and external service providers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Maintenance Engineer Facilities Responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all hard services within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical site environment. The role focuses on maintaining critical building systems and infrastructure, including fire safety systems, CCTV, access control, elevators, automatic doors, lifting equipment, HVAC coordination, and building fabric (such as roofs and civil structures).The position ensures effective preventive and corrective maintenance execution (via SAP), contractor management (including JLL), and compliance with EHS&S and Quality standards. In addition, the role supports capital projects, monitors budgets and service performance, contributes to maintenance strategy development, and drives continuous improvement across site facilities operations.

Non-Negotiable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or engineering within a technical or regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or industrial preferred)
• Strong knowledge of EHS&S and GMP Quality requirements
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance processes, ideally using SAP or similar CMMS systems
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or Facilities Management field, OR equivalent relevant experience
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
• Experience working with contractors and external service providers in a complex site environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and compliance-driven environment
