Job summary

MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our on-site team. You will perform visual checks, replace wear parts, and conduct basic repairs to keep guest areas safe and comfortable.

Fluent English is required, Dutch preferred, and a valid driver's license is necessary. The role involves collaborating with FM contractors, managing stock, and occasionally working weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual checks of communal areas and hotel grounds.
• Exchange wear and tear parts (light bulbs, mattresses, etc.).
• Carry out basic repairs on furniture and bathroom equipment.
• Perform small painting projects; monitor utility areas.
• Work with FM contractors and develop maintenance plans.
• Manage stock of maintenance inventory and supplies.
• Respond to guest and management inquiries and document them.
• Ensure interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance; weekend work may be required.
• Experience with preventive maintenance processes.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (f/m/d) to join the maintenance team our MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West. MEININGER Hotels. Redefining hybrid hospitality. We run more than 36 hotels in Europe's best cities—and counting!

YOUR TASKS

• You perform visual checks of communal areas and hotel grounds.
• You execute exchange of wear and tear parts (light bulbs, mattresses, etc).
• You perform basic repairs (furniture and bathroom equipment).
• You perform small painting works, etc.
• You monitor and maintain utility areas and equipment.
• You work closely with FM contractors and FM department to develop and execute maintenance plans.
• You are responsible for and keep stock of all maintenance inventory of supplies and equipment.
• You respond to customer and management inquiries and requests and document them accordingly.
• You are accountable for the interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel.
• You’re flexible and understand that working in the Hotel industry occasionally can mean having to work during weekends, and on public holidays.
• You have experience with preventive maintenance processes.

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a technical background or education, relevant practical experience is a plus.
• You enjoy helping people and getting things done.
• You work efficiently and independently, organizing multiple projects, tasks and activities.
• You enjoy diverse working environment and are flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
• You are fluent in English and preferably in Dutch.
• You possess Driver's license B.
