Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Limited in Amsterdam is seeking a Finance Supervisor to lead day-to-day accounting in the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy and compliance within a luxury hospitality environment. You will supervise accounts payable/receivable, assist with month-end close and reporting, support audits, and coach finance staff while seeking process improvements.

A degree in accounting/finance and at least five years' experience in hospitality are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in finance or accounting, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in supervision or team leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, reconciliations and month-end closing processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and thrive in a dynamic luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day accounting activities within the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Review and verify accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and support the preparation of financial reports and management information.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring timely processing, accurate reconciliations and efficient collection of outstanding balances.
• Review supplier reconciliations, resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with purchasing and approval procedures.
• Monitor daily revenue postings, review general ledger transactions and ensure all financial transactions are correctly coded and allocated.
• Review cash and banking reconciliations and support treasury and cash management activities whilst safeguarding company assets through effective controls.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with statutory, tax and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group requirements.
• Supervise, train and coach Finance colleagues, allocating work effectively and supporting their ongoing development.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiencies and support finance-related projects and system implementations.
