Role Description

The Logistics Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Rotterdam, responsible for coordinating and monitoring daily logistics activities for marine clients. This includes arranging transport and shipments, managing documentation for import and export, tracking deliveries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role involves liaising with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve issues, confirm schedules, and provide accurate status updates. The Logistics Specialist will maintain logistics data in internal systems, prepare reports, and analyze shipment performance to support continuous improvement. The role also supports inventory control, order processing, and other operational tasks as needed to ensure smooth and reliable service.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid Analytical Skills to review logistics data, identify issues, and support process optimization.
• Customer Service skills to manage client inquiries, handle complaints professionally, and maintain long-term relationships.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Export procedures, including documentation, regulations, and coordination of international shipments.
• Relevant experience in logistics, shipping, or marine services, preferably within a port or maritime environment.
• Ability to work accurately under time pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Proficiency with standard office software and logistics/ERP systems; familiarity with transport and customs platforms is an advantage.
• Vocational or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional working proficiency in English; Dutch or additional languages commonly used in shipping are beneficial.
