Role Description

The Logistics Manager 3PL is a full-time, on-site role based in Rotterdam, responsible for overseeing third-party logistics operations to support marine and shipping activities. This role involves coordinating inbound and outbound shipments and inventory processes, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with international shipping regulations. The Logistics Manager will work closely with 3PL providers, internal teams, and customers to optimize transportation routes, monitor service performance, and resolve operational issues in a timely manner. Daily tasks include reviewing order flows, tracking deliveries, managing stock levels, supporting procurement activities, and responding to customer inquiries about logistics status. The role also includes continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high service quality across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management, with experience overseeing 3PL operations and coordinating complex transport flows.
• Proficiency in Inventory Management and related warehouse processes, including stock control, reporting, and optimization of storage and handling.
• Experience with Customer Service in a logistics or maritime environment, with the ability to manage inquiries, communicate clearly, and build long-term client relationships.
• Knowledge of Procurement processes, including working with suppliers, negotiating terms, and aligning purchasing activities with logistics requirements.
• Relevant experience in marine, shipping, or industrial logistics is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks under time pressure.
• Proficiency with logistics and ERP systems and standard office software tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Rotterdam and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
• Strong Leadership skills: developing teams, addressing performance issues, and driving positive change.
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages relevant to maritime trade are an advantage.
