Job summary

GLS in Utrecht is seeking a Logistics Employee to join a large distribution centre where thousands of parcels are processed daily. You will unload, sort, and prepare parcels for shipment while working with colleagues to maintain accuracy and speed.

No prior logistics experience is required; on-the-job training will equip you with all necessary skills. Evening and night shifts may include shift allowances.

Job description

As a Logistics Employee at GLS in Utrecht, you work in a large distribution centre where thousands of parcels are processed every day. Together with your colleagues, you make sure parcels are unloaded, sorted and prepared for further shipment quickly and correctly.

Your tasks include:

• Loading and unloading parcels;
• Sorting parcels and shipments;
• Scanning parcels;
• Checking labels and shipping information;
• Identifying damaged parcels or other irregularities;
• Preparing parcels for further processing;
• Supporting the overall logistics process;
• Working according to safety guidelines.

This is a physical job where you will spend a lot of time walking, standing and moving parcels. You don't need previous logistics experience. Your colleagues will teach you everything you need to know on the job.

Do you already have experience as a warehouse employee, logistics employee, order picker, parcel sorter or sorting employee? Then this position is also a great match for your experience.

GLS offers different shifts, allowing us to find working hours that match your availability:

• 10:00 - 19:00
• 16:00 - 21:00
• 20:00 - 04:30
• 21:00 - 06:00

There are opportunities starting from 16 hours per week up to full-time. If you work evening or night shifts, you may receive additional shift allowances on top of your basic hourly wage.

For this position, your motivation is more important than previous experience. We are looking for someone who enjoys staying active and can be relied upon by their colleagues.

• You are at least 18 years old;
• You are available for at least 16 hours per week;
• You are physically able to lift and move parcels;
• You speak Dutch and/or English;
• You are reliable and keep your commitments;
• You enjoy working as part of a team.

No logistics experience? No problem. You will receive guidance on the job and learn everything you need during your first period at GLS.
