Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) invites university students in their final or penultimate year to join the LEO-PNT Payload, Signal and Frequencies Team in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The internship focuses on signal engineering, RF compatibility, and spectral analysis within the Celeste programme.

You will work under experienced engineers to develop MATLAB/Python tools, analyze signals in the frequency domain, and evaluate interference scenarios affecting LEO-PNT systems.

Qualifications

• Must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a Master’s program.
• You will be enrolled at your university for the entire duration of the internship.
• Good knowledge of GNSS fundamentals and digital communications is required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the analysis of RF compatibility of potential LEO-PNT signals.
• Characterise navigation signals in the frequency domain under supervision; assess interference mechanisms.
• Develop and use MATLAB and/or Python tools to generate and analyse signals, calculate spectral metrics, and investigate compatibility scenarios.
