Job summary

Vinted is seeking a Staff/Senior Staff Security Engineer for Vinted Pay to embed security into the core payments platform across multiple European licences. You will own the security architecture, drive regulatory controls, and work with Payments Platform, Payments Engineering and Group Security to deliver scalable safeguards.

You will threat-model payment flows, implement automated guardrails, and raise security fluency among engineers while balancing regulatory requirements with product

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated payments or fintech under PCI DSS and FCA requirements.
• Staff- or principal-level track record delivering major security initiatives.
• Ability to translate technical risk into business impact for senior audiences.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own the Vinted Pay security roadmap end to end and drive risk closure.
• Translate regulatory requirements into automated security controls.
• Review AWS infrastructure, payment pipelines, and vulnerability tooling to close gaps.
• Define PCI DSS and data protection architecture with multi-region controls.
• Lead cross-functional security initiatives across Payments Platform and Eng. teams.
• Maintain risk register and present mitigations to governance bodies.
• Embed secure development into Payments engineering and raise security fluency.
