Job summary

Fuse Energy is seeking a Senior or Lead Security Engineer (Detection & Response) to shape the next generation of detections across our IT and cloud stack, including AWS, identity, endpoints, SaaS and data-center infrastructure.

You will own security monitoring end-to-end, build telemetry pipelines, lead investigations, and drive automated responses. This role is like SRE for security, combining autonomy with collaboration with IT and Eng to harden systems and prevent compromises.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in detection engineering, security engineering or incident response.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS preferred) and monitoring.
• Experience building telemetry/logging pipelines and detections.

Responsibilities

• Own security monitoring and detection across AWS, identity, endpoints, SaaS, networks and data center environments.
• Build and maintain telemetry/logging pipelines to detect security incidents and continuously test detection coverage.
• Lead security investigations and incident response from detection through containment and recovery.
• Proactively hunt for threats and identify visibility gaps in controls and coverage.
• Build automation to improve detection, investigation and response, leveraging AI where appropriate.
• Collaborate with IT and Engineering to translate findings into preventative controls and better design.
• Develop and test incident response playbooks and continuously improve response capability.
• Implement and enhance internal AI agents and security bots for monitoring and reporting.
