Suncom Energy B.V. in Houten is seeking a Lead R&D Engineer to shape and refine our Thermal Energy Storage, Solar Field and related software tools.

You will lead projects, translate market needs into technical specs, and drive prototypes through to validation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to translate customer and market needs into technical specifications.
• Willingness to travel abroad for product installation and testing.
• Strong theoretical and practical engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing product improvement projects from setting up architecture and requirements to finalizing deliverables.
• Conduct (thermodynamic and mechanical) simulations and calculations to evaluate system performance.
• Contribute to the design and development of new components with the goal to reduce the Levelized Cost of Heat (LCOH) of our system.
• Set up and conduct experiments to validate your theoretical solutions.
• Prepare products for mass-production by considering manufacturability as well as technical, operational and financial aspects of the product, production process and installation process.
• Start the procurement process for your new proposed components by contacting suppliers and (co-)negotiating competitive deals with our procurement team.
